As of this month, the Lyre's Dictionary Twitter account will no longer be posting words. The account will stay in place along with the archive of its previous posts.
The bot actually stopped on its own, probably due to changes in the API though it's not totally clear to me when that happened. I also apparently now owe Twitter $2.61, since they started charging me for it without notifying me. It would probably be possible to fix the bot, but given the politics and ownership of the site, and the fact that very few people seem to be actively following it there, it's not something I want to put my effort or money toward.
The bots on Mastodon and Bluesky will continue posting as normal, and the word of the day RSS feed will be updated as well. I'm also open to bringing Lyre's to other corners of the internet in the future.
